Carver, Scott

Scott Carver is interested in anthropogenic environmental change and the impacts that this has on the functioning of ecosystems. He has a background in ecology, physiology and herpetology. Scott is enrolled jointly with the School of Animal Biology and is investigating the ecosystem impacts of dryland salinity on the ecology of Ross River virus. In particular, Scott is looking at the impact of salinity on mosquito and other aquatic invertebrate communities, aquatic invertebrate predator-prey relationships, and terrestrial vertebrate host communities.

PhD topic: The effect of dryland salinity on biodiversity and trophic processes that regulate Ross River virus disease ecology

Supervisors: Prof. Phil Weinstein, Dr Helen Spafford-Jacob, Dr Andrew Storey
